Apagidiwag Omàmawi’ininiwag Community Development Circle is conducting a needs assessment to determine the needs of Omàmawi’inini people and other off reserve Indigenous peoples. There are three ways that individuals can participate in the project: sharing circles, individual interviews and/or online or in person surveys.
Sharing Circles: Over the next few months there will be teachings and cultural gatherings in Westport, Kingston, Sharbot Lake, Bon Echo Park, and Clarendon. All Indigenous peoples are welcome and encouraged to participate in these gatherings and teachings. Sharing circles will be conducted at these events to discuss strengths, challenges and barriers, available resources, and future development opportunities.
Dates and locations for the sharing circles will be posted on the events page on the AAFN website.
Surveys: There is also an opportunity for Indigenous peoples of various ages to participate in the needs assessment by completing an online survey. The survey will also be available at all the events (along with helpers) for individuals who would like to completed a survey in person. Everyone who participates in the survey will be entered in a draw for a $100 gift card. A total of five gifts cards will be awarded.
