Community Centre Mission

Ardoch Algonquin First Nation
Community Centre
Pine Lake, Ontario

The community centre at Pine Lake is the collective vision of members
of Ardoch Algonquin First Nation. The community centre will provide a
space for community members to come together in a culturally significant
space for community gatherings, cultural and linguistic programs,
education and training, as well as social and health services.

The community centre will contain a community kitchen and a hall that
will seat up to one hundred people, washrooms with showers, council and
office space for Ka-pishkawandemin (Ardoch Algonquin First Nation Family
Head's Council), and multi-purpose rooms for community programs and
services. Additional office space will be available to community and
external organizations who would like to rent space within the community
centre.

While the primary mission of this centre is to serve the collective
needs of Ardoch Algonquin First Nation community members, the centre
will offer programs periodically to non-members who want to learn about
Algonquin people, culture and history. In addition, the centre hopes to
attract one or more health professionals who can provide health services
to community members and also regional residents.
